Welcome to the official website of the International Steering Committee (isc) of the East Asia-Pacific Conference on Structural Engineering and Construction (EASEC). We try to collect as much information about the EASEC series as possible in this website. The information are not only useful for organisers of EASEC but they are also important for academicians, researchers, and engineers in the areas of structural engineering and construction to get the latest EASEC related information.
The international control of EASEC is under the EASEC international steering committee. Prof. Fumio Nishino of the University of Tokyo, Japan, had acted as the founding chairman of the international steering committee; from the formation of EASEC until EASEC-4. Prof. P. Karasudhi of Asian Institute of Technology; Thailand, was appointed as the next chairman during EASEC-4. He was succeeded by Prof. H. Okamura of the University of Tokyo. Prof. W. Kanok-Nukulchai of Asian Institute of Technology was appointed during the EASEC-8. Prof. Yozo Fujino of the University of Toyko was appointed during EASEC-10. Prof. S. Kitipornchai of the City University of Hong Kong was appointed during EASEC-12 while Prof Y.B. Yang of Chongqing University was appointed during EASEC-14. The current chairman, Prof T. Ueda of Hokkaido University, was appointed during EASEC-16.
The objective of organizing EASEC conference is to provide a forum for academicians, researchers, and engineers working in broad areas of Structural Engineering and Construction in the East Asia and Pacific region to exchange information leading to close collaboration and cooperation.
Initially, the geographic focus of EASEC covers all countries in East Asia, Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, as well as Hawaii and the West Coasts of USA and Canada. However, participation in the conference shall be open worldwide.
EASEC shall be run as non-profit and non-commercial. Under the management of the Local Organizing Committee, expenses incurred shall be balanced by one or more of the following incomes; (a) registration fees; (b) donations from local industries or individuals in the host country as well as in the region; and (c) residue carried over from previous EASEC conferences.
